The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Coolpad has now recently launched the Coolpad note 5 (Five) lite C in India which will be available in the retail stores for purchase starting August 5. The Chinese company has been around in the Indian market for a while now, providing excellent value for money smartphones.
It is a big step for Coolpad because as of now their devices were only available for purchase via online retailers like Amazon or snapdeal. With the launch of this phone, Coolpad will look to build a reputation for themselves in the offline market of India.
Design-wise, the phone looks a lot like its predecessor coolpad note 5. The smartphone sports a metal body design with the fingerprint scanner at the back just below the camera sensor. The volume buttons are located on the left edge of the phone while the power key sits on the right side. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack build on the top edge, while the Micro-USB and speaker grilles are seen to be at the bottom edge of the device.
As for specs, the device features a 5-inch 2.5D curved glass HD (720×1280) display with a pixel density of 294 ppi(pixels per inch). It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset clocked at 1.1 GHz, paired with Adreno 304 GPU for graphics and comes with a single 2gb ram variant. Regarding storage, it has 16gb of internal storage which can be later expanded to 64gb via micro-sd slot by the user.
In the camera section, it has an 8-megapixel rear camera of f/2.4 apertures with autofocus and led flash and a 5-megapixel front facing. The camera with the same f/2.4 apertures for selfies. The Coolpad Note 5 Lite C packs a 2500mAh battery which is rated to offer up to 240 hours of standby time.Unfortunately, the company has not said anything about the phone capable of fast charging. Connectivity options for the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and 4G LTE with VoLTE support. The smartphone weighs 139 grams, and the dimensions measure at 142.4×70.4×7.9mm. Sensors on this device include a proximity sensor, light sensor, and accelerometer. The 7.95mm width doesn’t make it a slim phone, but still, it’s a pretty lightweight device and will be easier to hold, and the 5-inch display on the device makes it easier for single handed usage.
The smartphone is said to run on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with the company’s customized user interface called the Cool UI. It is a heavily customized UI, so it will take some time to getting used to, but it has its own unique set of features with lots of options for themes and wallpapers.
As announced by the company, the phone will be launched with a price tag of Rs.7777 in the Indian market. It will be available in two color variants:g ray and gold. At this price segment, it is expected to face stiff competition from devices like xiaomi redmi 4 and moto c plus.
It is a good buy considering the specs for the price tag of Rs 7777, but the camera and software wise the xiaomi redmi 4 and moto c plus still seem to be the better choices. Well regarding availability the coolpad note 5 lite C, being an offline exclusively launched phone, will be easier to get our hands on when compared to the redmi 4 which is only available for purchase via Amazon flash sales. But if the camera is a priority for a potential buyer, then the moto c plus seems to be the better choice.
